Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy is a treatment approach performed by physical therapist that utilizes skilled, hands on techniques in order to diagnosis and treat musculoskeletal and joint impairments. The goal of manual therapy is to reduce pain, increase joint range of motion, decrease inflammation and facilitate correct movement patterns in order to improve functional mobility.

Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation

Strengthening muscles is a core component of physical therapy. The musculoskeletal system supports and stabilizes bones and allows them to move properly. Muscles must be strong in order for the human body to accept the daily forces placed upon it. It is critical that each muscle in the body operate efficiently to perform the action it is designed to do. The muscles must move in specific sequences.

Physical Therapists use a variety of modalities when treating patients. The goal of modalities is to reduce pain, relax muscles, reduce inflammation and promote overall healing. Common modalities used are hot packs, cold packs, ultrasound and electrical stimulation.

Spinal Traction

Spinal Traction is a treatment technique used to assist in relieving pain. It works by placing a gentle decompression stretch on spine that separates the vertebre and allows decompression of the nerves and vertebral discs. Spinal traction is commonly used in patients with low back pain, neck pain and herniated discs.

Fall Prevention

Falls are a leading risk factor for mortality in individuals over the age of 65. 1 out of 10 falls among older adults results in a serious injury (such as a hip fracture or a head injury) that requires hospitalization. Falls are preventable. We offer an effective fall prevention training program utilizing risk factor assessment, movement analysis, strength building, and dynamic balance training to reduce fall risk.

Golf Focused Rehabilitation

Perform at your peak with the Titleist Performance Institute's proven system to maximize your body's ability to perform an efficient and powerful swing. Titleist has created a research based training program used by many of the PGA professionals to maximize their performance on the course. Gain the same advantage over your peers with this proven multi step system.

Sport Specific Rehabilitation

In order to be the best in your sport, your body must be able to meet the specific demands of that sport. We offer sport specific rehab programs that are tailored for the needs of the specific sport you wish to play. This creates more efficient use of your training time and better outcomes.

Often, formal rehabilitation programs alone are not enough to get you back to sport performance after a major injury. We aim to bridge the gap between a formal rehabilitation program and sports performance to enhance you beyond your pre-injury level of function.

Ergonomic Assessment

Many overuse injuries are the result of improperly set up work environments. This leads to neck, back and upper extremity pain and injury due to abnormal forces being placed upon the body for prolong periods of time. We offer consultations in our office or at your work site to assess and modify your work environment. Correct problems before they start.
